Married nearly 36 years, we said from the get-go that divorce was not an option. Some things can't be tolerated, like abuse, addiction, but short of those intolerables, things can always be worked out. Sometimes it's harder than others, but the payoff of a long and loving marriage is worth it.

My DH and I have 41 years together under our belt, and we truly believe that communication is vital to a good marriage.

Marry for love not lust. Respect that goes both ways and know when to walk away instead of proving you are right.

If you must fight, fight naked---you can't stay upset very long! Seriously, don't sweat the small stuff and realize that almost everything is small stuff!
