Whatever motivates you! Just be very aware of where the pins are.

Blue:
First I am sorry to hear about all the pressure you were under. Who can work when you are that stressed??? I am so glad that both your DH and your son are ok. I am glad your neighbors are too. What a fright!
I think you hit the nail on the head when you had your lightbulb moment!! Sometimes those fears sit right below the surface and we can not get a handle on the root of the problem. I think you found that root.
All the board had some great advice! We have all been there at some time in our lives. I have to say I love this forum. We are all quite a group, and Thank God for you all.
Now on to my advice, if you have no room in the sewing room then try the dining room table! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/s...shocked002.gif
LOL You and yours are in my prayers.

It worked.... once again, you guys rock! :-)

I went into my cave last night after dinner, with the door shut and the heater on. Well, the door was open a little bit so the quilt inspectors could come and go as they wished. *sigh* LOL

I cleaned up yesterday, so my work table was clear and everything was in its place.

And when I sat down I thought "I don't HAVE to get this done, I WANT to get this done".

With a few breaks and visits out to the lounge to make sure hubby hadn't disappeared or turned into a frog, I got two more of my black and white blocks done. 10 down, 2 to go!

Funny you should mention that! LOL A friend was having trouble with her mother-in-law always popping in unannounced. I suggested next time they saw her car pull into the drive, her and hubby rip all their clothes off and start going for it on the dining room table (the front door opens into the dining room). I was willing to bet that not only would MIL stop coming round unannounced, but that she'd give at least two weeks warning, in writing, from then on! lol

Sadly, they've never been game enough to try!

Would the Japanese craft magazines and cocolates be good mojo to cheer you up?? LOL

Yumi

Hey dude.... that's a good idea, we should have thought of that when we swapped the quilts! We have a NZ quilter magazine here, I could send you a copy in return for one of yours. I'm keen if you are! :-) You'll have to make sure it's one with lots of pictures though, I don't have anyone who can translate Japanese for me. lol :-)

I read somewhere ages ago that eating chocolate releases the same endorphins in the brain as having sex does. I tell myself that chocolate fixes everything! LOL

You'll have to let us know how it works... I'm convinced it will be a HUGE success! PMSL

Sorry to hear about your not so fun excitement. Glad to hear it turned out to be not so bad as it could have been.
Misfortunes tend to help us realize just how fragile we humans are, and how quickly things can change, up or down.
I try to plan handwork or quiet sewing time in the livingroom with hubby when he is home ... I don't have to be looking deeply into his eyes every moment, but being able to just "be" together helps us a lot.
And, now! Your five minutes are up! <g>

That's it exactly.... we don't have to be gazing lovingly into each others eyes or anything mushy... even just watching tv is "together".

You are both so right! That is what partners and friends are for, and we are both.
