oh poor baby. I know how you feel. i hope you got some help for it. I rub on Aspercreme and that helps. I cracked cartilage when bending over in a chair to pet my cat! luckily it wasn't a rib. takes just as long to heal though.

ER now, back specialist soon as possible. I did about the same thing and called my DR who called in a prescription of Felxaril which eased the pain immediately. He sent me to a back specialist later that week and of course the back is something hard to see what is wrong. He ruled out anything extremely serious and wanted me to learn back exercises from a physical therapist. I do the exercises three times a week and have never wrenched my back again so far. The exercises do work wonders and they are not like regular exercises, more like stretching.

Ice,ice, ice! 1 1/2 yrs ago I had a lumbar fusion & because of blood loss, they cold not get my blood pressure to stabalize. Because of this, I could not have any pain meds.
They put ice packs on my back & I was fine until they melted. Then the pain was excruciating. I'd call for another ice pack & the pain was gone. I was surprised & amazed. God bless & good luck! Debbie Stair |
Been there. I usually use heat to help relax the muscles, especially if I can't get to the chiropractor right away. I have a hard time with the ice. Sometimes I think my chiropractor is a miracle worker. I can usually tell the difference right away.

Hope you feel better soon!

Hope you're better soon. I agree with kitsmamma. That's what I had to do with my sciatica. Hot and cold, then physical therapy for my core and you need to keep it up to prevent or reduce relapses.

Ice for 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off, says my son, the chiropractor. Do not use heat as it causes swelling in the sensitive tissues, etc in the back. Ice, Ice. S

Get to a good chiropractor!
|
Chiropractors are great, but don't take a pig in a poke. Get a recommendation from someone who loves theirs. I have lots of experience.
