Just because I might be poor -
I have heard that beggars can't be choosers - and while that is true -
I still might have an idea of what looks nice - I still might recognize well-made from not well-made - I still might recognize good quality from poor quality - I still might know that what might have been "expensive" is not always "appropriate" - I can still recognize when something has been made with care - I might still have a sense of what is good design or not - |
five thumbs up

So true. Always give your best.

Yay, Bear!! That is truly so worthwhile to remember! I shall pass it on as I am one of the "SoSec only income" people!
|
The most important thing to remember is: No matter how much stuff, money or anything else you have, you can't take it with you.

My grandfather use to say, "we're not poor, we're just broke".
|
Indeed, one can distinguish between better vs poorer......but if the need is great, the article will be welcomed....whatever the quality.
We were taught never to look a gift horse in the mouth. Just accept it gracefully and thankfully. My mom used to say: "just remember there are children in Africa that would jump for joy to get this!" :o |
I once hear "well until our ship comes in, we'll just have to keep paddling our little boat":)
|
Love them all! So true.

I was once or twice very poor. we now own a condo with all the amenities, a sewing machine, fabric, a husband that loves me and a son with a job. I'm so rich right now!!!!!
