Yes, it is a pain. Never start these things late in the day! You need plenty of time to go to the hardware store six times before you are through!

Sorry to hear of all your woes, but am smilimg at the vision of your husband being on toilet flush watch, that is so funny, hope it all gets sorted soon, or he will be too exhausted to enjoy Christmas !! :)

I also hate plumbing problems....don't we all.Somene mentioned the high rise toilet. There's only about 3-4" diff & what a difference it is.DH went with that when we needed a new toilet.
The older you get, the more you appreciate it. Our DD liked it so well, they installed same one & they're a "few" yrs younger.:-)

Why is it house projects always turn major! Sorry for you, not a great time of year for that frustration...hang in there, you will have a beautiful bathroom soon I bet!

ME TOO! Plumbing isn't DH's thing so when toilet in our ground floor bathroom was leaking we called a plumber. Almost $500 later we had a new toilet installed within an hour of the plumber's arrival and with no swearing and throwing of tools. I was very willing to pay the fee because when I get the urge to go I have to go NOW and with my arthritic knee rushing to the upstairs bathroom took a lot of time - had a few near misses but did OK. I always multiply the time by 2 and the cost by 3. I usually get close, but who would have guessed a kitchen renovation would never be completed in nearly 15 years.
