Many quilters & shops have community forums, Carol Doak, the Quilt and Needle, Sue Spargo, Jenny Beyer, Holly Taylor, Piece of Cake, .... The list goes on & on. Visit your favorite shops, designers, people who teach techniques you like & check their sites many have links for their forums. None are as ( universal) as this one though. Some are large, some small. Some busy, some sporadic. Some work together on donation projects, mystery quilts and/ or round robins. There's a lot to choose from.

It's good to know of other sites to get different viewpoints and information.

I agree. I don't see where checking out forums excludes one from belonging to this one as well. Downside is the time issue. Way too easy to spend a lot of time checking out various social media.

I, too, get frustrated by Pinterest and for the same reasons. I figured I was doing something wrong. So many neat looking items have no pattern attached, even when I go to the website shown.

I forgot about the MSQC forum. :).

I am so very lucky to have found this forum. I have grown as a quilter because of the information on here and I only check out the What's New part so I am probably missing a lot of good information.

I found this site via http://sewing.patternreview.com/Sewi...sions/forum/19, you can have a free membership there.

I get blog feeds from some quilters I really like.

I joined the Handi Quilter forums, but there does not appear to be too much activity there. The Facebook group is more active.

It takes some time to get used to Pinterest, often people are reposting something that is already on the site, other times people are posting fresh links. Not all quilts will show you a pattern, just as not all photos of food will get you to the recipe, but enough do for my liking.
