I, too, get frustrated by Pinterest and for the same reasons. I figured I was doing something wrong. So many neat looking items have no pattern attached, even when I go to the website shown.

I found this site via http://sewing.patternreview.com/Sewi...sions/forum/19, you can have a free membership there.
I get blog feeds from some quilters I really like. I joined the Handi Quilter forums, but there does not appear to be too much activity there. The Facebook group is more active. It takes some time to get used to Pinterest, often people are reposting something that is already on the site, other times people are posting fresh links. Not all quilts will show you a pattern, just as not all photos of food will get you to the recipe, but enough do for my liking. |

Quiltingaroundtheworld.com Connecting Threads also has a forum. QuiltingHaven is a great (small) friendly place! NO advertising either! |

I'll second that. |
Everything new posted here I see it on Facebook quilt groups first. LOL. Facebook quilt groups are full speed night and day. Most have thousands of posters, some are closed groups but welcoming. No matter what quilting style or method you like there is a Facebook group for it. The flash sales from the shops are fantastic.

I also follow a few blogs... Bloglovin has some great tutorials and patterns, not just quilting but crochet and knitting as well. I totally agree with slbram17...so many forums to visit but you can get so distracted by the social media outlets...I should be spending more time sewing.

they were neither appropriate nor helpful/useful. i tend to prefer forums, rather than blogs, because they are more conveniently organized. i don't like having to fish through a long line of disjointed posts in order to follow one conversation. i guess i'm just too much of a geezer to adapt to the blogish way of "talking." lol i will occasionally stumble across different forums that look interesting but never have time for any but this one. lol since it's been mentioned a few times, here is the complete link to the MSQC forum: http://forum.missouriquiltco.com/forum.php |
