Glad you are doing fine. My first quilt instructor has done this as well so she warned us a LOT about safety. Take care and treat yourself to some pampered time.

Yeah, I almost had one of those moments today as a matter of fact, except it could have been really bad. I don't know what I was thinking. I was sitting down in my office chair (swirly and on a hardwood floor with nothing for grip so it slides everywhere easliy) at my cutting table and was cutting fabric from the top of it towards me instead of from me and away. Well my chair slipped and my hand kept going and the blade went up against my abdomen. Luckily I haven't changed my blade in awhile so it was far from sharp (but still) - so it didn't cut the clothes I was wearing or me (thankfully). Talk about those moments... seriously - sometimes they just happen. I've spent the rest of the day being uber careful! I hope you heal up soon!!! :)

I am using the Klutz Glove. It's not a cut proof glove, but better than nothing.

I also recommend the O-Lipfa Safety Guard. It's a "lip" that will be attached to your Ruler. Keeps your fingers away from the edge.

Hope you get well soon..About 20 years ago my husband was cutting a straight edge on a piece of leather..He was using a steel ruler and a very sharp knife...He has a perfectly straight edge on his index finger...This was before rotary cutters...It did take a while to heal..Get a finger cot to cover it so it will stay dry while working around the house...
