I did the shopping for a new car in June...and I wanted and decided on the CRV, but then did more research. I found out they have been having issues with the newer tranny style. Even Honda families are saying stay away until they get these issues worked out. I ended up purchasing a Mazda CX5 and really like it.

Sounds like you had a fun birthday. So special all your children and their spouses were able to be there at the same time. The food sounds delicious and the dessert to die for. Have fun trying out the Equinox!

Pam H 09-12-2015 06:46 PM

Pat, I have had my equinox for 3 years. I really like it and would love to keep it forever but am feeling the need for something bigger (mini van) so that the 6 of us can ride in one vehicle. Too bad I can't talk my DD into buying the bigger car.
Judy, I just read something about someone thinking for years she couldn't have dairy but is now trying cheese made from sheep's milk. The ricotta was super expensive so she opted for the feta. You might want to give that a try. And thanks for the idea of ordering pills from Amazon. For some reason I only think about it for household items and gifts.
Today I went to the quilt show in Madison. Was that fun!! I haven't opened my bag to see all that I bought. Have to wait for company to leave. I really, really, really wanted to buy a chair for my sewing room but they are almost $500. If someone had not already bought her floor model I had my mind made up to buy it. Oh well.

All of you are doing so well. I am afraid I have been derailed so far this month but will start again tomorrow!

Leann 09-14-2015 05:30 AM

Jan, not everyone is doing well, but we will, won't we? My discipline is zilch! I said a silent prayer of thanks last night as DH wanted a half price Sonic shake, but that promo is over. yeah!

The month is half over - obviously I just wanna contribute fabric to someone that will work for it!

Today is the start of a new week. To attack this in a 'Judy-way' - I AM in control. I AM making the food choices that take me to my goal. I AM losing weight.

In this gal's blog she describes what is meant by 80/20 clean eating. This is helpful to me because I always think you have to do things 100% which has stopped me from doing/trying a lot of things.

Pam, thank for the link. I found it interesting. I'm pretty hard on myself sometimes. I really hate those times when I've blown it and give up for the rest of the day, which usually turns into weeks. I also have trouble getting back on course after a cheat day.

BUT, I am going to succeed at my weight loss goal because I'm crazy enough to believe I can!

Jim's Gem 09-14-2015 05:25 PM

Oh Heavens, is it really the 14th already? Been busy with new grand and feeding my oldest daughters kids and DH (she's pregnant and not into eating or cooking)
I am in, I already have a FQ there, I believe.
I have been doing awful at eating! I keep saying I will do better.

Lynne, you are ready for the next step. When I say "I am" my mind says, "Yeah, right." Now try, " Why am I losing weight?" That same mind will go to work like the computer it is and look for reasons why you are losing weight. 'I am' is better that 'I will'because it's not in the future, but turning into a question is much more effective.

Does anyone else have trouble with 'setpoint weight'? Post 38 years old, my weight has seemed like it had a mind of its own. The weight I want for now is 4 pounds less than I weigh now. I can force it down 2 pounds, but as soon as I turn around it sneaks back up, but doesn't go higher unless I really work at it which I did this summer. I appreciate the 7.5 pounds I lost in August, but the last four are stuck (again). And again and again.

I guess there is such a thing.

This is so timely for me Irishrose. I am being good 1200 calories but the weight seems stuck. I have about 15 more lbs to go.
