That's nice! I know she'd appreciate a quilt like that. It's wonderful to have a doctor that's so friendly. We have two doctors that are members of our church. They are both very friendly, sociable people.

I think she was talking about a sari.

Was she talking about "Sari" material... omg!!!! I am making my duaghter a quilt of brocade and sari material. It is thin but soooooo beautiful! What a great doctor you have. By all means, make her a gift.

That sounds great. I bet she would love the quilt you are going to make her.

You are so lucky to have a chatty doctor. Ours is a fine man, who does REALLY listen and talk.

Amazing, isn't it? Folks respond to quilting with a wondreful openness. PLEASE show us your shirt stash fabric.

That would be an awesome Christmas gift. She'd really appreciate it.

It might be she was talking about the "Salwar kameez" which are the long top with pants that the women wear as well. These tend to be made out of silk or cotton (I think), so that is very cool and would make some beautiful quilts. Here is a link to a picture: http://www.culturalindia.net/indian-...r-kameez.html.

I actually like these outfits better than saris. I saw both sold in a shop in Samoa ( I think), which has a large Indian population.

Yup, must be sari material. Most of them are somewhat thin, but stunning. Also many are bordered.

My OBGYN - for 30 years - is Indian. She is so kind, gentle, caring and such a good Dr.

Now that I'm in Texas I can't see her anymore but miss her dearly the level of care she provided.

WOW! Did you fall into it, or what? Lucky, just imagine all that yardage and I bet the fabric is choice.
