I should stop grocery shopping here too, it's rare I get everything on my list because they are out of the most basic items like 1 percent milk! My Walmart still has a fabric dept, but they are slowly cutting it down. I ran out of template plastic, recently made a special trip there for it, and they don't carry it anymore. Argh. Thier paperpiecing paper was on clearance as well. So aggravating as my Walmart is 7 miles away and I have to drive 18 miles to the nearest fabric store.

One of the things that has cut into Walmart's sales are dollar stores. Dollar General is moving into towns too small for a Walmart. So those people will go to DG first instead of driving anywhere from 20 to 50 miles to a Walmart.

We went to Wally World tonight to walk around the store for exercise. Typically, DH and I shop specials and have lists of where to purchase staples: WM, local grocery stores, and our local Walgreen store. We do purchase gas from the Murphy Oil/WM site using cash cars which are filled monthly.

Our fabric department is in a sorry shape from end to end. Since most of my purchases are for charity quilts, I will be limited in the future. Selections for thread and other notions are extremely limited.

This company undercut the local guys and those shops went out of business. Now, this so-called discount store is cutting out more and more service, pressuring employees, limiting stock variety and availability, and has raised prices sky high.

I make it a point to purchase as little as possible from WM. When push comes to shove, I will probably only purchase the cash card for gasoline.

I can and will find quality products elsewhere. Do you recall when Mr. Sam was alive in the late 1980's and the marketing sloan was American Made/ Buy American Products???

Yes, Kay, I sure do! Now its so hard to find anything there made in America. But its hard anywhere now, its really sad! I know we wont shop ours if they take the fabric out, thats the ONLY reason I go there, pet food and fabric. I could just as easily get the pet food anywhere if I cant get fabric anymore!

I wouldnt be buying milk there any time soon. There is a lawsuit going on where they sold a gallon of milk and the family was almost finished drinking the gallon and a dead mouse poured out of the jug!!! That was on CNN and HLN the other week!!

another thing they do, is move into a small town, set up a regular WM, local stores go under, they do this in 5 or 6 small towns in the area.
Then they close the small WM's and open one Supercenter. Now that's all there is to shop at.

Hello, I work at Wal-mart here in my town.....our prices are lower than the store about 10 miles from us because..... the key word is COMPETITION.... my store is within 1 mile from Meijer, Kroger, and other grocery chains.... the other store has no competition near them. they are located off I-71 with only fastfood chains in their area..... Milk at my store is $2.05... it is $2.59 at Kroger.... I buy a few things on my way home from work... but do my main food shopping at Aldi's

I'll drive the extra miles to get the lower prices somewhere else. And get a bigger selection of goods on the shelf. It really gets under my skin when they only have 2 brands to choose from on the shelf, Wal-Mart brand, and a low end brand. Neither one that I want for my family.

Price isn't everything. Quality is number one for me. Then comes paying a fair price to the producer for their product.

Oh how gross.... do you remember the family who claimed they found a finger tip in a sandswich from Wendy's.... it was proven it was planted ..finger belonged to their aunt... Another point.. Do you know that the Great Value brand are produced by major company's...such as the bread is made by Nichols and Kebler makes some of their crackers and cookies, and their brats are made by Johnsville..... Just a few interesting facts.. I do not condone the way W/m does their business as an employee I have my own issues with them. lol
