Thier paperpiecing paper was on clearance as well. So aggravating as my Walmart is 7 miles away and I have to drive 18 miles to the nearest fabric store.

I wouldnt be buying milk there any time soon. There is a lawsuit going on where they sold a gallon of milk and the family was almost finished drinking the gallon and a dead mouse poured out of the jug!!! That was on CNN and HLN the other week!!

I wonder if it was planted there? A dead mouse does smell, you would think they would have noticed an odd odor when the glass was so close to there noses.

Probably off topic but several years ago I read a economic report that staple grocery items would triple in price by 2011. Not even the discount stores could buy low enough to keep the prices that their customers expected if the items could bought at all. DH and I started a small garden. It took me several years to learn how to grow vegetables. This summer my little garden provided all the vegetables we need until next summer. I planted a few cotton plants too! I have a big bag of cotton I have deseeded. It's great for stuffing and using for batting for small projects. I just pull it until it's all the same thickness. It's all natural! After seeing the price of all natural stuffing, I'm planting a couple of cotton plants every year.

I would think if they didn't notice something in the milk jug before it fell out, then my thinking is the mouse could have fell in the open jug in their house. I've toured some dairies and a mouse in the milk jug would be very unlikely to happen by accident.

There are cotton fields in my area and it's easy to find cotton seen here when the farmers are planting.

I'm not a big fan of mom and pop stores being the only places to shop. I grew up with only a few mom and pop stores in the town and they stocked only what they wanted you to buy. I will go to a big chain store first if one is available.

Maybe the problem is that many people just have less money to spend - so ALL stores have less gross income from sales?

I think we need to start thinking globally instead of just locally.

What happens on the other side of the globe DOES affect us.

Am also considering deleting WalMart from my weekly shopping, even though
I am within 5 blocks of their newly remodeled store. Prices have gone up
on almost everything, and not by a mere %. Thank goodness we do have
a new ALDI's to serve us . When fabrics come back to WalMart in same
quantities as in the past, I may spend more $$$ there.

people are low on money because the jobs are scarce.
Jobs are scarce because factories are going overseas.
Factories are going overseas so they can make things cheaper
People want cheaper things because they are low on money.

And no one sees the connection.

and the jobs went overseas because the owners/managers (who probably are paid nicely) think the labor over here (USA) is too expensive

and other production costs have also risen dramatically - health insurance, other insurances, and taxes for a few other items.
