I love Gene Pintey. My first was Johnny Mathis. I still have them both and on CDs too.

Was it Bobby Vinton that sung Blue Velvet?
Did Gene Pitney sing Town Without Pity?

I received 16 Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford for my 13th or 14th birthday. I don't remember the 1st one I actually bought. I still have some of my old 45s from way back when.

Wasn't that Bobby Vinton who sang Blue Velvet? My first record was "Town without Pity" by Gene Pitney. He autographed a photo for me in Old Orchard Beach, ME.

Cannot remember who in the world sings it but the song was "Everybody's doin the Locomotion." I loved that old song.

I've worn that album out in more formats than any other one I've owned. I wore out two vinyl, three cassettes and I'm on the second cd.

The first one I remember buying is Led Zepplin III. I have only had three copies of it so far, twice on vinyl and once on cd.

One of the first ones I bought was Monday, Monday by the Mamas and the Papas. I also remember getting Michelle by the Beatles because it was my name. I never liked my name until that record came out.

The Ventures, Herb Albert. I remember you could buy a 45 for a dollar. Stupid me did not keep the paper case they came in with the artist picture on. Memories Memories Memories! My mother always called it Jungle music. I am 62.

You are so right. I worked at an appliance store that sold records and I was in charge of it, reordering when they got low etc. A 45 was $1.00 and 5 cents tax....I will never forget it. I didn't even make a $1.00 an hour at that store but I got free records so that was great!!
