I am an accountant, and have worked in finance and accounting for over 20 years. Started working after school at 13 cleaning houses...no extra money at my home. Put myself through school, BA, MBA, CMA on student loans...married and had a son (now 16). 6 years ago I decided to quit full time work and spend more time with my son. I have worked contract accounting jobs since then, and have never regretted it for a minute. My son leaves this fall to go away for school, so it's back to full time work..took up sewing and quilting when I quit full time work and have loved every day being able to sew and quilt, at least a little. I am hoping that I will have time (and energy) to keep quilting once I start back at work....such a great hobby!

I've been a stay at home mom, day care worker, YMCA camp staff and then camp director, Y swimming teacher, teacher's assistant in public school and now a teacher for the past 12 years, teaching 6th grade math and social studies. Start back to school this fall for my third and final degree---- another education degree to bump up my retirement check a little more! I also do dog rescue and rehabilitation. My avatar was my first and was terrified of everything imaginable (any noise, doorways, tile floors, hardwood floors, bathrooms, men, any strangers, etc) but he's all fixed up and can go anywhere with me now!
