I was told in the very beginning of the internet that it was yelling. It is fine for me if it is just a few words, but many times when the whole thing is in caps I don't read it. It is just more difficult for my eyes to read.

appears to me that people seem to waste alot of time on being critical/judgemental in the so called computer world because they can't be seen. There are many reasons a person may type a certain way. I use caps a lot because it is what my brain injury does with no memory. I can also see the words better because of the injury.

I learned when I go to the chat room that I can hit the control button and hold it down and then touch the + button and the screen gets bigger so I can read it better. then to make it normal again you hit the control - Button. Try it. Works wonderfully if you have a vision problem. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (happy yell)

What I got from the employees response is that THEY are in the wrong and THEY know it... and that this particular persons should NOT be their point of contact!
If she felt yelled at, she could step back, etc...and then simply ANSWER the question, without calling you out on how you typed.
I use CAPS to emphasize simply because every forum, etc has a different way to underline and italicize.
I get that all caps is yelling, but one word SCREAMS emphasis to me (and, it seems, most other sane people!)

I wonder if styling your text (like in caps) has become more important than it used to be because we have reached the tipping point in communications - sending texts and emails instead of voice-to-voice. And since sending texts and emails has become more the norm, it's become more important to have ways to express emotion in the words. This wasn't so important when we actually spoke to people, but we all know that it's too easy to read something into the text that might not have intended to be there. I'm betting that by the time my little grandsons enter adulthood, there will be lots of 'etiquette' rules that we, who used to actually speak to people, will have to learn to adapt to. Just my humble opinion. Or JMHO, like they say nowadays.
