The whole town got together to celebrate Sue and the kids' treasure of quilt fabric and had a good ole time.

And, guess who turned up for the celebration, but the President himself. Abe said his mother had one of Marsye's quilts from years ago and when he heard about Sue's quilts he couldn't pass up a chance to have one of hers, too. His timing was perfect, getting there just in time for the party and being able to get a quilt of Sue's made from fabric found from the ship wreck.

Sue was so excited to meet the President Abe and he brought her a gift a plaque to hang in her quilt shop.

"Time 2 Quilt"

This was in honor of Marsye and Sue. As when they are quilting they are always thinking of each other. What a precious quilt plaque that Abe brought to her!

Sue gave The President the best chair in her little house and he sat in it with pride.

He sat for hours and watched her quilt. It facinated him to watch her nimble little fingers turn out something of such beauty.

Later in the afternoon President Lincoln decided to have a little chat with a couple of prominent mining men in the town about their thought's of putting some of Sue and Marsye's quilts in the National Quilt Museum.

Abe wanted to know if Sue would make a quilt to take back with him to hang in the National Quilt Museum. Sue was so excited and wanted to tell Marsye but Marsye was still on the train.

Sue has been busy making the quilt. All the folks in town are so excited to hear that Sue will have a quilt for the museum. They are wondering what pattern she will use for this special quilt.

Then, Sue thought to herself why not make a quilt with a log cabin in it for the museum. She has been going thru those old trunks that had the fabric in it and came across a picture of Abe Lincoln, she was so excited.

She thought this will be perfect for the quilt.

Sue is an artist and loves designing cool silhouettes of people. She thought to herself why not do a silhousette of Abraham Lincoln on the quilt with a log cabin.
