It's really back, I have been back since February, but I am
only working 1 day a week (Fridays).

But this week there was one guy on vacation and business
had been busy so they needed more help, hence where I came
in mainly to answer the phones and take messages, and IF I
remember anything about the Mfg. then take the order and print
the pick tickets. I was able to do a LITTLE bit of order taking, but
mostly what I was doing was TRYING to clean up the A/P & A/R
    mess.

The former owner got so bad with his drinking that he wasn't doing
anything right in the accounting, so here I am 3 years later trying
to figure which invoices are TRULY past due and which had been
paid, but never cleared from the system and the aging reports.
Talk about a mess shesh its enough to cause me headaches.

Working for the new owner is just so much easier and laid back
he is not paranoid about everything, but the poor guy he has 3
companies now that keeps him super busy, along with 3 YOUNG
daughters all under the age of 10 (he is mid/late 50's). So I am
TRYING my best to do as much as I can to help make running the
    business easier.

Mark has said that soon as business is showing a good come back
(if it ever does) that does plan on bringing me back permanent and
full time. Of course since I am the one who is doing the work with
the monthly commission reports that we get, I KNOW just now much
our sales have dropped over the last several years. Prior to my being
laid off 3-1/2 yrs ago we averaged about $47k - $68k a month in
sales commissions, now we are lucky if it is $24-27k HUGE drop.

As for the fire is has been burning a week now, it is now considered
the 3rd largest fire in Colorado history, and was started by lightning.
Where the fire is burning is a good 60+ miles north of me, but if/when
the wind shifts the smoke does/can make its way down here.

Arrow What The Heck ARE These?

The big clean up continues ... and I've come to a box of ??? that I picked up at an estate sale. I thought initially I could use them as loops for fancy aprons, but I can't for the life of me figure out how. The are in different shapes. Maybe teeny tiny purse handles? They are made with Czech crystal.

They are buckles. You can use them on aprons.

I am declaring that "Nice RAK" is a complimentary thing to say on this thread, whether you are a male or female quilter.

Its fun to turn the tables on rudeness. Mary

Krystina, I love your shiny whatnots! They would be cute embellishments on purses or crazy quilts DQs.

Hope everyone is doing well on this beautiful Sunday. mary

Hoppa, that's what I thought originally. Actually, now that I recall, she had some belt buckles that were hand cast. Here's the thing, there is no ... don't know what you call the thing that goes through the hole ... tail? And there's no cross bar, if you know what I mean. I did pick up some wire that vaguely matches ... which I also found in the box ... and recall that I had plans for my husband to snip and solder. I guess he didn't think that was a great plan because the wire is still in the box.

On a related note, I ordered a bunch of hot fix crystals on eBay yesterday with the thought of putting some on scarves and mini quilts. Getting blinged out in my old age!

There is nothing wrong with gteting blinged out as we have a few friends who love bling and are
not afraid of age. As artists you do not have to have things match as that is the problem we run into so that is why we beling to an art quilt group too.

Hey there Hoppa - I love bling. And I love aging (it certainly beats the alternative, don't you agree?).

Here's kind of what I mean by adding crystals to plain shoes (although the photo I found yesterday was better). I'd even add them to sneakers or hats or anything you want to bling.

    I've been RAK'ed

Mrs. Mary Davis I would like to thank you for the scraps for me to use in my classes collage box. They will have fun gluing all the bright colors to make their pictures. And all of the recipes and instructions are appreciated also. Again, thank you Mary.

Good Morning!!! We had a little over 1/3" rain last night so I had to use green this morning, because my grass and flowers look great.

Krystyna, hoping you will share the recipe for the raspberry/strawberry/choc jam. My raspberries are just looking good now. Another month and i will "hate" picking them like last year. But Mom loves the jam and then the rest went to a friend who made jelly for all the adult Christmas gifts on the reservation.

Hoping to finish a doll blanket and pillow for cousin's granddaughter today. Then on to the rest of the things on my list.

Have a great day. Be good to you, because you deserve it. Prayers for all of you who are in crisis.

thanks for the well wishes everyone. i am amidst a cross between being really excited and having a wait see attitude. this interview process leaped into high gear considering that i had the initial phone interview last thursday to flying on an airplane this friday. i have hardly had time to catch my breath.

my today started out like this: 1) so my cell phone decided to stop ringing (and i couldn't here my messages) this weekend and it's the telephone number on my resume so i knew i needed a new phone today. 2) plus i got a computer virus last night after trying to look at the 'get ziggy with it' quilt pattern on an etsy site. the virus totally locked down my computer so that nothing worked. 3) and add to that m sil started her chemo this morning.

so i got up at 6am today to talk to my computer geek brother about what he could do to help with the virus..... his answer 'not much'. then i ran over to radio shack to get my upgrade phone and radio shack was sold out of all the evo phones, not a one. now i have to make a decision on what to get(i know i want an android instead of an iphone...go figure) so no phone today. i am calling friends for advice. now remember my phone doesnt ring so i happened to look down and it was lite up. it was the az company asking could i possibly make it there friday to interview with the vp, mgr and the rest of the tax team. so i couldn't decide on the phone just yet so off to office depot geek squad to see about my computer.

the geek squad said yep you got a virus and it's gonna cost you moolah for us to find and erdicate it. possibly hundreds of moolah. that wasn't gonna work. so i called the crazy computer geek who fixed my last virus and for a total system wipe and reload of my system and ms office $60.00 so in the midst of all this bad and good news, another call from the company to please check my email for the flight choices and get right back to them. so i had to make a mad dash to a library to get on a computer to choose a flight. that done i went home to see if i could save anything before the total system wipe. not happening.

then on to the crazy computer geek to get my system wiped and reset. i have lost absolutely everything. all my files, all my swap records & photos, all my rak info, all my documents, all my pictures, everything. i have a total blank system now with nothing but software on it. okay so now i need to look into some online data storage. all of this because i wanted to look at a quilt pattern last night. so i watched my cumputer lose its identity as my machine.

then back to communicating with my db to make sure my sil was still hanging well from her chemo. he said they are staying in a hotel so she can relax.

so i just saw my flight arrangements to phoenix. it is a 3 hr direct flight from here. i have a direct flight there and a 5 hr flight back. i will spend a whole 8+ hrs on a plane this friday for 3 hrs of interviewing. something to look forward to.

now i am back home after a fun filled day trying to figure out just waht i lost that i really need and may never get back. oh well what can you do? computers and viruses.

HavPlenty -- that computer stuff totally stinks. I have some stuff backed on on a flash drive but I don't do it often enough. Have considered the on-line backup myself. My husband is a writer and so many things he has just on the computer. Guess I'll back everything up now!

    Good luck with the interview.
