I am drinking "Jamaican Me Crazy" right now. I also like their "Moose Tracks " coffee. They have a good selection.

I don't drink coffee (too bad you didn't ask about my favorite tea!) but my hubby does. In the past 2 years he has switched to using a French press, which provides enough for two cups rather than a whole pot since he is the only one drinking it. He grinds the beans fresh, only takes a moment. He doesn't like flavored coffee. After trying several brands of beans, he has settled on Aldis Beaumont brand. He really likes it and our SIL, a finicky coffee "snob" has even said what great coffee it is. And cheaper than a lot of other brands. If you have an Aldis grocery store you might want to check it out. (By the way, my favorite everyday tea is Red Rose, a Canadian brand.)

Being from Vermont, I am surprised no one has mentioned Green Mountain Coffee. They have a catalog and have a ton of different kinds. I think they invented the Keurig pods.

I am interested in hearing more about coffee technique. I am the only coffee drinker and would like to avoid getting out the large coffee maker to make one cup. Not interested in Keurig particularly either.

Do you have a special brew basket? I tried googling but nothing came up that helped. Please post your details. I am so interested in this.

The info on this thread is interesting......for those who grind the coffee beans........where does one buy a grinder? Walmart? I may look into that..makes sense...fresh bean=better tasting end product.......but if I am thinking right, bean coffee......is it available locally or does one have to order....oddly when I need coffee, I just add to my grocery list, head for Walmart or aldi and grab the can...never scan the shelf for other alternatives, but I certainly will now.......

I like my coffee strong, but not bitter or burnt. My coffee of choice, is CDM (Café Du Monde) Coffee & Chicory Automatic drip. This is a Between Roast coffee with ground chicory in it. I drink 2 mugs a day, which shows 3.5 cups on the coffee maker for one of the mugs. It takes me one heaping scoop of coffee to make this big mug or I can put 3 level scoops (each one is 1/8th cup) for a 12 cup pot. I make a dark, non-see thru coffee which has a slightly sweet taste coming from the chicory. One great thing about the chicory is that it has no caffeine in it. The chlorine in the water does affect the taste, so we use filtered water to make all our coffee.

Oh yes.... I do add sugar & cream to my coffee. This makes it kind of like a hot coffee flavored cappuccino. Unfortunately, I have only seen the CDM coffee available for sale in Louisiana and Texas. Another side note, I have A-Fib, and this coffee doesn't make my heart flutter and a lot of the others do.

I have had some of the Dunkin donut coffee made in a Keurig. It was okay, but not for me every day, unless they quit making my CDM.

By the way, there is a famous outdoor restaurant in New Orleans, Café du Monde that serves my style coffee and you can get beignets to go with it. If you are ever in NO, please try it out. It's a treat to go down and enjoy.

I also have a Keurig, and fill the little cups myself. When I used the pre-made little cups for Keurig, I discovered I missed that smell of coffee you get when you're getting everything ready to brew. I have gotten hooked on World Market coffees. You can buy either whole beans or ground, and if you belong to the Rewards Club you get a free bag of coffee after you've bought six. It's more expensive, but not so bad when you factor in the seventh bag as free.

I had coffee at a friend's house and it was delicious. I asked her what flavor it was and she said she had bought it at some fancy store but it was a mixture of many with cinnamon added. I was tired of the flavor of our Folgers so I added some cinnamon to the pot of coffee, not the coffee grounds. Made my coffee so much better. The only thing is that cinnamon makes stains, so I use a little bleach once in a while to clean the cups.

A trip to Cafe du Monde was my favorite experience in New Orleans. We were there on a beautiful rainy day (I like rain) and the scent of the coffee and beignets was the best and the taste of both was excellent. I brought cans of the coffee home with me. Yes very good coffee.
