I am painting one on my garden barn! I painted it dark red and the color is looking chalky so I decided since the paint isn't that old I would cover it with a quilt block. Hope it works and won't be too much trouble ~ now if the weather would just cooperate!!

I drove from Omaha to Dallas Texas this weekend and I did not see any quilting barns and I was disappointed. I might have seen one off of 1-80 west but it was so far away. I did Shop Hop and that was fun. I went to "Quilter's Dream" in Colleyville, Tx. Check out my blog to see photos.

I live in Iredell County, NC and fairly soon there will be a book/map printed with all the barn quilts in our county and from what the owner of one of our LQS told me there are over 500 just in our county which seems high, but I'm trusting her to know. There is one that someone has on their home that is on my route home from work and it's a grandma's basket and it's beautiful. She has it placed on the area above her garage door since they don't have a barn. From what I gather, this book/map will feature all the quilts on barns, homes, etc. Should be interesting!!!

Wisconsin has a lot of barns with quilt blocks..Green County has the most...here is a link:http://www.greencountybarnquilts.com/
I have seen many of them, but not all 100...now with the cost of gas probably have seen as many as I will be seeing unless I happen to be in the area for something else.
