My Mom would say...."You can't be hung for what you're thinking....it's when you spit it out of your mouth that you're in trouble!!!!!

My mom used to say “it’s dark as a pocket in here” when she needed more light.

Ha! That's my favorite yet, luvs.... Now that I'm a grandmother I'll use that when the pouty lips come out.

I don't remember anything good or helpful out of my Russian grandmother's mouth. Luckily I had limited contact with her in my childhood. But my Mom had some good advice. Kids were notorious for mocking others who may have had mental or physical disabilities, sadly. Lest I join in, Mom would always say, "There, but for the Grace of God, go I..." I have never forgotten her words. She was a kind lady.

My Dad taught us that "you pay just as much for the last drop in the bottle as you pay for the first drop".

I remember that every time I scrape out that last drop of mayonaise or peanut butter or syrup.

A man on a galloping horse will never know the difference.

You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I also have heard this saying but what does it mean. Personally I have found that vinegar will take care of fruit flies but I wonder if honey would attract them? Do they get their little feet get stuck in the honey? Inquiring minds want to know.

My Mom said a lot of the sayings above. Some shouldn't be repeated.
