Grandpa was referring to little ones putting pebbles, peas, nuts, etc. in their ears and not being able to get them out.

Both of my daughters put little stuff up their noses, had to take to ER for removal.

I say the boring one to my grands, just a little bit different - if you're bored, you're boring.

My parents used to say to us when we expressed boredom, "Well, I've got some work for you to do." We generally found something more interesting than work to do...

I'm a grandma now and one that I think I'll pass on is 'it's just where you left it' when they can't find something.

'It will be the last place you look' was what I grew up with and eventually I realised why that was always true!!

I remember when the biggest calamity in my life was getting a bad haircut. I'd cry and my mom would say, "It's only hair. It'll grow back."

My dad used to say the difference of a good hair cut and a bad one was two weeks.

I think it was my grandmother on my mom's side would say, "Well that enough to make a preacher cuss."

My older sister used to say, "Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back." When I said it to her kids one time, she said she had never heard that before - so maybe it was my grandmother too.

I started cutting the bottom of the laundry soap bottles because some of those funnels will not come out.

My Grandma told me "one grandma can take care of five kids but 5 kids cannot take care of one Grandma!

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

It means just have to do it or believe it even if you don’t want to.
