Why can't you just email the scan from your pix folder??

One use for the feature:

Say I wanted to print a picture of an enlarged picture from this thread without printing everything else in the thread

Green and black 9-patch lap or baby quilt top -

which is a quilt top I made without a pattern.

I can take a screen shot of just the area I want - and not have to guess at which page to print or what size I need to reduce it to so I can get the whole picture to print on one page.

One can also use the feature for capturing unwanted ads to show admin on this board - if one happens to see one .

I think one can look for "how to take a screen shot" and instructions will come up for your operating system if it has the capability.

I was trying to report a problem on here once upon a time to patricej and she asked "can you take a screen shot?" I did not know what it was - much less how to do that.

I do screen shots a lot from Pinterest. It's so much easier to go to my Photos and look at stuff rather than having to log in to Pinterest.

Asked because I tried to email something and it had to be a jpeg or some other types to send in an email. I took a photo of the document and then sized it down and sent via email, that worked.
Guess I should just do a test following the instructions and use a printed page to see what happens.

On an apple device, you can also "touch" the picture you want to save and a pop up will ask what you want to do. Click on "Save Image" and it will go into your photos

Thank you dunster for telling us about the snipping tool in Windows. I love learning about new ways to do things.

Ubequilting, go to YouTube, put in "how to do a screenshot on_____ " put whatever device you want to do this on in the blank: such as iPhone 7 plus, or the name of your android phone if that is what you have, or a PC with Windows 10 or whatever operating system your computer or laptop has, or iPad etc. You can find out how to do many things on YouTube!

I actually did it! ! ! I pressed the key with the four patch on it - between the Ctrl and Alt keys, when I had the wanted view up on the computer. Then I clicked on Snipping tool. Then, at the top left corner of wanted text, clicked and dragged to get the red line around what I wanted. Then I clicked on the red X to delete and it asked if I wanted to save it or not. I said "Save", and now when I went to my picture folders, there it is! ! ! Whoooo Hooooo! ! !
