There are always those who can use what we no longer want or need. Good luck.

For a single bag of miscellaneous items, I would put it in the back of my car and drop it off at Goodwill when I am in the general area (would not make a special trip; gas is too expensive these days and I live a 20-minute drive from everything). The workers there will go through the items and display them appropriately, and I like that Goodwill pays their people as they train for jobs outside of Goodwill.

Maybe a local auction house? Take everything you have there and let them sell it for you, they keep a percentage and you don't have to deal with it.

It depends on how I feel. Sometimes I don't mind boxing it all up and taking it to donate. Sometimes I just want to get rid of it right now, so it goes in the trash pick up.
