When we had our deck built, I specified 4x4 posts at the outer two corners. Then I put pot hanging brackets on each, which hold up the clothes line from the hooks on the house. I loved hanging out laundry, diapers, sheets and towels, UNTIl my son's preschool teacher said she had done all that too. But the family allergist said she was bringing in all the outside pollen on the sheets and then sleeping with it. He did advise that she could hang them out, but then put them in the dryer for 10 minutes on air to shake out the pollen. That stopped my line-drying real fast. I can still hang up the lines to dry things, but a little research (back then) said a gas dryer only cost 25 to 50 cents to run a load. I was doing a lot of work to save 25 cents.

never occured to me to save money by hanging out.I do it because I love the fresh smell & no allergies here.Makes you wonder how earlier generations made it thru
