Maybe someone has some ideas. I made the curtains for the master bathrm. I want to match the curtains to the shower curtain.
However, I would need 56" wide material....I have not found any material that I like.....I don't want to "seam" 45" fabric together.

Any other suggestions???

Karen

Wide backing fabrics??
Some of the Home Dec fabrics are 54-56 wide, you might try some of those??

I did check home dec fabrics....most at our JoAnn's was just to heavy. Plus, I'm looking for yellow and most of the fabric was red and rust colors!

My daughter made a patch work shower curtain. The blocks are 12 in. She used white & some of the window curtain fabric. I think it looks real nice. :D

M.E.H.

Now I never thought of that....What did she use to hide all the seams
in the patch work.....I don't have a serger, but I bet mine would fray when I wash the curtain....Good idea, but I would have to think about that......Thanks

You don't have to put the seam in the middle...Use the 45 inch in the middle and add a piece on either side...Then add a coordinating piece to the bottom or each side...

Are you going to use a lining on this shower curtain? That should help keep the seems from majorly fraying.

use plain muslin to back it with no batting. I would put minimal "quilting" in it just to keep the muslin in place.

You do as above... seam on each side and Then... make a strip to run up the seam line of the same material and sew it on top of the seam. Or use a coordinating print to be sewn up the seam... make your own statement :) Have fun...
