Congratulations. This is a good time to buy houses, they are so low priced now it's almost unbelievable. Smart of you to look ahead, lots and lots of people don't and regret it.
I wish you were my neighbor.

You'll be very close to me! I'm North of Stockton in Elk Grove;> We'll have to play together.

Merced isn't far from Stockton or Elk Grove! My close co-worker lives in Elk Grove but he works at our office near Sacramento. I work in the East Bay.

I also have carpeting in my sewing studio. However, I did what Alex Anderson recommended years ago--I have industrial type, non-looped carpeting. It is wonderful, and I'm so glad I placed it here. Also, have in-floor heat as my studio is in the lower level of our house. I'm always warm and toasty--important when one lives in Minnesota!

[quote=pittsburgpam]There is finally light at the end of the tunnel after all the back and forth about buying a retirement home! I wish I could move there now but it would be way too far for me to commute to work. One more reason to look forward to retirement... a bedroom downstairs with hardwood floors for a sewing room![/quote

    Wow what a beautiful house.......Congrats!!!!!!

Congratulations on your beautiful new home. I am closing on my "new" home on Monday. Yes, it has wood floors, also, and I am so glad.
