Default So much dirt!!

We just moved into our new-to-us home and decided it was time to purchase a new lightweight vacuum. I simply cannot believe the amount of dirt (and dog hair?) captured after using the vacuum the first time! Approximately 8 cups compacted from the master bedroom alone! Stunned and out of curiosity, the same day I vacuumed that room again. The result was another two cups compacted! I will vacuum all three bedrooms daily until it seems reasonable. Really happy with our choice (Shark Navigator) but can't stop thinking of all that dirt!

I love my shark vacuum! It's astonishing how much more it picks up than others I have owned. Congrats on your new home!

My Shark vacuum is great too. Glad you are getting the dirt up before you really settle in.

were the carpets cleaned before you moved in? might think about having that professionally done if previous owners had pets in the house--those of us that are pet owners and have them indoors know it's a big difference in the amount of dirt and animal hair you deal with routinely.

I am glad that you identified the model you used. I had looked at many of the advertisements and commercials and said I wanted one, but already have three vacuums and could not justify buying another one. I don't even do any cleaning except the toilets and bathroom sinks since I had some bad falls followed by other problems. Just recently, my husband picked up the vacuum to use and the hose came apart. I guess I'm closer to a Shark than I realized.

Quilting shorttimer.....yes, forgot to mention that we had the carpeted bedrooms pro cleaned before we moved in while rooms were totally empty. That makes the amount of dirt even more puzzling!

This is why I won't have carpets in my home again.

I just bought a Dirt Devil. Wanted something without the bag and this was a midlevel price that I thought was worth the purchase. I'm shocked how much my previous sweeper wasn't picking up. Love this little sweeper. Hear a lot of praises about the Shark, too.

You can't beat a Shark. I find that I pick up an amazing amount of dirt that I must have been living with for a long time. I hate to think about it. It makes my skin crawl.
