I also recently purchased a SHark vacuum. I had a Dyson that I decided wasn't working well any more. I vacuumed my living room with the old Dyson and then with the Shark. It was gross how much the Shark picked up.

I wonder what it is that wears out on our old vacuums? I've had the same experience when vacuuming with a new one. I'm really surprised that carpeting ever caught on. I have a friend who has put it in her kitchen. My mind boggles

We have mostly vinyl flooring that looks like wood. Hey! I'm retired and don't want t o spend time cleaning. We have a Rainbow vac that's approaching the 30 year mark! When we vacuum the LR carpet every other week, it's amazing at how dirty the water looks and how much cat fur is in the water. Oh my! It's just the two of us, plus cat. Thanks for the Shark recommendation, should we need that. We have a hand held Shark that is used for minor clean ups, so I know the brand.
Carpet in the kitchen? Not for this girl! But I hope your friend enjoys it,Kalama!

I have 2 Sharks and love them both. I keep my older one upstairs but the downstairs one has features that I like.
I second the idea of having them professionally cleaned.

In my experience, professional carpet cleaners do not vacuum. They expect you to have vacuumed it well. They start by wetting it down and then scrubbing. Then they tell you to let dry for at least a day and then vacuum well again. So it's up to you to vacuum.
Maybe you could hire a professional house cleaner.

The brushes on the attachments wear down, so perhaps they are not picking up so much hair, etc.

I'd be considering a call to that company - it doesn't seem like their equipment is working properly!

We purchased a new Riccar vacuum two yrs ago. I went back to using bags too. After 7 yrs of a Dyson, I had nothing but disappointment. The Riccar has been a great vacuum. I do not have any affiliation with Riccar other than as a satisfied owner.

Can you tell me what Navigator you got? Checked Amazon and Walmart and there are several of them, different colors, and prices. Thanks.
