I enjoy doing what I want when I want. If I want to stay up all night reading, I do. The only day I worry about sleeping in is trash day. If I am too tired the next day, I take a long nap. If I want to eat my big meal of the day at 3 pm or 8 pm, I do it. And if I eat dessert first, no harm done. Some days I change into a clean nightgown when I go to bed. And like Suzanne, I can sew whenever.

That's what I was thnking. Senior discount at events and movies. I got my tickets for $3 less per day at Quilt Festival because i'm now a senior. It said I might be asked for my ID when I bought the tickets online. Nobody asked. That was disappointing.

The best advantage to being older is:

Older and Wiser!

We all learn by our mistakes and therefore we grow wiser. I know with my adventures in the quilting world, I have learned through trial and error, what works and what didn't.

When I was young I wouldn't go out to the mailbox without putting make-up on. Now I only use makeup for special occasions like weddings. I don't care whether or not my clothes are high fashion or not. If they're comfortable and don't look horrible on me they're fine.

A quiet home, DH and I like the no stress in our home. Not worried about looking fantastic when I go out in public. Being able to walk away or keep my mouth shut when conflicts arise with others, it’s just not my problem. Having very good friends for 35+ years who really know me. I think there are many advantages to be older.

I don't like the health issues I have, but being older too, I have learned to appreciate the little things in life. Simple things like watching the birds, or going for a short country drive are so relaxing. My fur babies keep me smiling, and I enjoy tv shows that make me laugh.

I can't believe now at 64 the things I use to worry about in my 20's, so yes, there are good things about being older.
I do love and appreciate every day, and knowing good friends, and spending time with family.

When you get stopped by a cop they are less likely to show some attitude. Your mileage may vary.

No one expects you to run anywhere.

Does anyone else remember "The Fruitcake Lady" - I think she was on Jay Leno -

I don't think intentional rudeness is acceptable - but sometimes old people can also "get away" with saying things that very young children also say.
