Used to live in KS/MO (tornado alley) so those storms would come up at a moments notice..

Here, we're under a winter storm warning. We're supposed to get more snow, plus now the wind has kicked up and they're saying blizzard conditions..the high tomorrow is also the low.. 28. Wednesday isn't looking any better. The high is supposed to be 14 with the low of -3 or something ridiculous like that..

I'm afraid if I move to fast my bones will break I'm so cold!..

I'm from Southern WI, but we were in Northern IL at the time, so yes, we were close - too close! And unfortunately oblivious since we were in this large building. Thankfully they did usher us downstairs, but I think the worst was already past when they did. I feel for you with that cold!!!! I dread winter coming - I get goosebumps just reading "-3"!

we seem to be haveing strange weather patterns all over the world,
here in Australia we are having floods on one side of Australia and droughts on the other side

It wound up being a quiet night as far as I know because I slept like a rock, that means the weather radio stayed nice and quiet. I really was expecting it to be a long night.
