One of my husband's lines goes to the Yale's of the university. Most of his family for a number of generations were educated and were teachers and ministers. He also is distant cousins with both Pres Adams, both Roosevelts, George W Bush, and Dan Quail.

Everyone has such wonderful history to share! Real pleasure reading each and every one. Me? Nothing to report. My sister and I are just beginning to delve into the family history-which we know emigrated from Germany and Norway. DH's family did too. So this will be interesting!

This has been great fun to read! Daniel Boone has a lot of quilting decendants!
On my mom's side great, great grandpa Fleischman drove the Liberty Bell from the Chicago train station to the Columbian Exhibition in Chicago in the late 1800's. He got the job as he could drive his team of 12 black horses and the beer wagon backwards down the alley to the tavern.
On daddy;s side his great grandparents lost six children to cholorea in one week in the early 1900's. They went on to have six more children-my grandpa was the youngest.
Now I have to research putting an avatar on here.

Hi: They say my Dad was part Cherokee (and was kinda looked down because of it) and I been asked many times if I am Indian. I always loved reading about Geronimo and the Apaches. When people cried, "Geronimo", before doing heroic acts, are great to me because I always thought of Geronimo as being a fierce, strong, brave, courageous warrior who loved his people and fought for them. I always thought it would be to have been great to be an Apache because I think people trembled at the sight of them and their name! I know history writes them as terrible but look what they had to to do survive and protect themselves. They sound a lot like the McGregors of the Highlands of Scotland!! Stay proud!
I don't know if it's true, but growing up my grandmother always said we were descendents of Geronimo. Her grandmother was Apache.

My ancestors were either military or ministers on my dad's side. I had two that were deans at West Virginia University on the theologian side and a building was named after them. Still have not got to go out there yet and tour the place. J. Edger Hoover is related on my mothers side along with a country singer.
