OK, I am confused by the question. I don't know which website or why they are considered inappropriate. Are they wearing skimpy bikinis while wielding these tools? Are these tools displayed in questionable positions? OR is it simply the fact that "girls" have tools that makes it offensive?

If the latter, then whoever has a beef needs to get off their sexist wagon. (Sorry - a Yes/No position is not possible)

I'm a girl - albeit an older girl, and when the hubs and I work on the house, I use power tools regularly. I have my favorites. LOVE the chop saw - not so keen on the nail gun.

The number of single females is large and they may not have the money to spend hiring a handyMAN for every breakage in the house. Many girls can maintain their own cars and many can do minor (or even major) repairs on the house. Lacking a penis is apparently not a detriment in home improvement.

My girlfriend got a pink set of tools when she got rid of her ex and she prides herself in doing as much as she can. I am so proud of her.

Now given that most marketing targeting woman is sort of sexy and pretty. Why would marketing of power tools be any different?

we live in a world where sex sells.
if it was a gorgeous hunk of man would we not look ourselves.

I've seen some girl/tool calendars - and I do feel that they are inappropriate. Not porn though, but what does a scantily female have to do with a power tool? Obviously just a marketing tactic. I suppose it is effective though, considering the target market.

It is a forum my husband belongs to. The pictures I posted are the ones in question. Several of the members (the high and mighty club) there who think they can dictate what is posted and what is not. They start screaming porn is being posted, it silly I think.
It's not about owning these tools, millions of people do and never even see these posters.

I think it's funny.

I wonder how many women bought the Chrysler Le Baron when Ricardo Maltabon posed with it?

I know an office where a young woman put up a poster of a male singer who was fully dressed even though the clothes were tight and the big boss went through the roof (said it was unprofessional) and in order to get her to take it down, he had everybody take theirs down. One male poster and about 30 girlie ones went into the trash!
