I think it's the closet that shrinks my clothing.

The forth corner is a big problem for me the bigger problem is getting a time when DH is out of bed so I can change the sheet.
Now the laundry is a who other problem. I can get it washed. I will frequently carry it to the washer in my nightgown. Baskets are awkward for me to carry and then the laundry can find a permeant home in a laundry basket so they are avoided when ever possible.

Is that what it is? I know the stuff in the back just doesn't fit as well as the stuff in the front...

So sorry for throwing in my non bed making hints.

I just get determined and tug until that 4th corner goes on perfectly.

No way would I ever sleep without a top sheet. Just me.

No, it's chocolate. Chocolate makes my clothes shrink.

As I was reading all of the comments, I remembered the fitted top sheets I had received as a wedding gift in 1970. I loved them because they didn't ever pull out. I also used a lot of plain flat bottom sheets when a fitted wouldn't work.

This is so timely. My coworkers and I were just talking about the fitting sheet issue at work this past week, and I hadn't read this yet. I passed on the trick of doing one of the bottom corners last at work, and after reading this, can see others struggle with this and also use the trick. It works for me.
Great tips here.

Agree 100 %. Can't imagine not sleeping without a top sheet.

I bought one of those laundry basket on wheels last weekend. I have a half flight down and then a full flight up to get the the laundry - but that is because I like to use the machines in my sewing studio so I don't forget all about them!

Was not a problem until I was going with a load of clean, folded clothes down the steps. About halfway down, the clothing had shifted enough that my clean cloths was now bouncing out of the basket and down the stairway! Ended up carrying it the rest of the way down the steps. I didn't have the lid on it, but not sure if that would be a full solution as all the folded clothes on the top got pretty jumbled up just from bouncing down the steps before it worked it's way forward and started falling out. I only wash my own clothes, and that is less than two regular size loads. The basket was only about half full to start with.

Hmm- maybe I could push it down in front of me instead of pulling it down behind - those that use them on steps, what works for you?

Macybaby, I would suggest getting a dumbwaiter installed.
