Wow, Jingle... 80 quilts in a year! I talked our guild into giving to the sheriffs' office to keep in the trunk for those in 'emergency removals'. A good cause IMHO.

I volunteer but it's doing what I like, not as a duty to give back. I tried that route and it was awful. I sew quilt blocks for QOV, quilts for foster kids for DHS, teach a free once a month community quilt class, help with the quilt display and judging at the fair, and help with the Master Gardner's Home Show each year. Also a few more random things to help with as they come up.

Well done!
I am a 35 year volunteer with 4-H and currently quilt to make donation quilts. Just led a quilting 4-H club and while the other leaders brought in their quilts for a "trunk" show for the kids, I could only show a table runner and a small lap quilt that I made for myself while I was receiving radiation for breast cancer. Everything else had only been for donation or just a few gifted quilts. Used to volunteer with the school, Sunday School and church stuff.

Great award, Nan and well deserved for the time you and others give to 'help' out those in need. In the old school I was raised in, it was what one did for one another, then ask them to 'pass it on' as an act of kindness. We taught it to our kids as well.
Yes, I have been on the receiving end too. From a lady quilter, whom I meet through the QB folks who lived some 45 minutes from me, Quilter 65, a strong religious and family-strong lady who has enriched my life by driving me to the Iowa doctors for retina eye care and skin cancer doctor. I cannot say enough good things about her and I let her know how much I appreciate her help.

Congratulations and well deserved...I’m sure it feels great to be acknowledged for the many donations of your time and talent. I am always in awe of the quilts you post here on the QB that you donate and wonder how you have the time to get so much accomplished. You are amazing.
