We had a neighbor once that asked me if I would take care of her cat while she went on a vacation. While they were gone Billie had kittens. The neighbor never came back. I did enjoy the kittens. But now I only neutered cats.

Awwww. I took in a mamma cat who lived in our neighborhood. she kept coming in our bkyard at night with her two kittens left from her first litter.
they slowly became house cats but she became "with kittens" again just before that and had them in our other bedroom closet. the kittens kept moving to every corner of the room to have a clean "potty" area. luckily we were about to tear out the old carpet anyway.
we put a litter pan in that room and mamma taught her kittens to use it. for awhile we had nine cats!!!

15 years ago this month, my friend moved and found two little brother kittens in her new house. We took the gray tiger and another friend got the orange one. We still love our Max! I wish 15 years of purr-fect happiness for you and mama cat after you get her spayed!

Did they reallly abandon the cat or did it not want to move with them? I know my cat can hide inside our house and I don't know where he is.

I can imagine that a pregnant cat wouldn't want to be around the hussle and bussle of moving....but then again, if they didn't alert the neighbors or the new owners they lost their cat I guess it is abandoned.

So sad when people do this. Great that you are able to help her.
