Well Today is the day ladies and gent. I am getting ready to have a small bowl of grapes for breakfast. would have oatmeal but out. don't go grocery shopping till tomorrow.
You know I heard a tip that you could loose weight and get ripped abs if while watching TV, during commercials you do situps or crunches through out the entire commercial. will have to try that during the news this morning. hope the kids wont be all over me while I am on the floor. hehe

did you add me to the list? Posted towards the end I was in. Weighed yesterday (yuck). I am now moving forward positive attitude. I am trying to loose weight and also dealing with just being put on coumadin and dealing with those restrictions. Who ever thought there would be a day that green leafy veggies are bad. I am hanging on the positive. have to have blood work done and if I have to do shots again twice a day I have to find a way to stay away from the blue bell ice cream for comfort

Even though you are on coumadin you can still eat the green leafy veggies. I know a lady who is on it and is a vegetarian. She just adjusts her coumadin levels so that she can eat. I will have to ask my mom if you are supposed to increase or decrease the dosage. She would do that for my grandma who has been on it for years. This veggi lady I know taught my mom the sliding scale for the coumadin dosage. (She did discuss this with my grandmas docs, which I would suggest you do also)

I would love to know how to adjust. I am trying to stick to it carefully for now only been on it since 8-24. first test too low(more shots) second test few days in the middle- no shots. today is the first full week. cross fingers please. I know it is minor in the grand scheme of things and am thankful but do not like needles. :(

Hopeful for this month again. Total through today, I have lost 12 pounds which is just a touch under half of my goal of 25. It hasnt been as bad taking the first half off as I thought it would be.

It's more of a plug, plug, plug along thing. Gotta get going. We are moving my parents up here from FL because my dad got really sick this summer and my sister and I have to get their apartment ready. Been a half of a lifetime since I have moved and I had forgotten what pain it is..hurry up and wait!

once you get you levels leveled out then you could probably start to eat those lovely green veggies and as long as you are going for levels you will be adjusting as needed. I would talk to you docs however. and I would talk to nutritionists as well as some alternative docs. this way you will be getting the most info. you should do some internet searches for coumadin and learn everything that you can about the drug and any others that you are on and learn the best way to eat from that. what works for one will not work for others because we are all different.

When my dad was on coumadin his doc said as long as he ate a consistent amount of the greens it would be fine, they would just set the dosage accordingly. It would be the ups and downs that would be trouble.

It is this getting adjusted period that's stressing me. Thanks for all the good advice. Before I was doing the weight watchers thing on my own- not so well. I had lost 75 pounds in 2000 doing weight watches and then thought I would be fine. through the years slowly put it back on. Now it's just not in the budget to go back so trying to use the tools I learned there. Salads were my favorite meal on the weeks hubby works night shift. lots of readjusting going on. Hopefully I will not be on it forever but will not put my hopes on that. I go back to the heart doc at the end of Oct. will face that when it gets here.
