Ok, other side now. Much more dark and more in the vein of folk art...

I am also in the process of working on a twin quilt for a family member (Have another one I will need to do after this one). I just work on the painting for a while, then go back to the quilt. Neither really have deadlines. I end up taking breaks away from whatever I am working on anyway, so I try to use that time to work on one or the other hobby.

Thanks, I just posted the other side. I was a little concerned about the one side being in a spring mood, and since I will be donating to a fall event, I wanted to make the other side more in line with fall.

    beautiful!! your work is amazing
put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.

I still love to use the crackle paint technique, which I always associate with primitive painting. Thank you for the compliment.

Love your work. I like the little 'snapshot' of nature, and the pineapple on the other side being the symbol of welcome....Your sign has a quality about it, which is something you don't see in other sign work. Very 'painterly', a little art piece as well as a sign. Very cool ....thanks for sharing and hope your sales go well.

Do you paint also? I don't often hear the term painterly unless it is by other painters. Thank you for checking it out and being so sweet in your comments.

I don't paint (only walls). My husband paints, draws and does the odd metal garden sculpture out of bits and pieces. I am an art lover, and have an emerging interest in art quilts, my mother and my sister also draw/paint. Alas, the average toddler could paint better than me.

    Serita,

Your bird looks better since you changed it. Great detail on your bird! I like that his colors contrast against the earth tones of the rest of the painting. It makes him the focus. Very well done! Sharon

Agree. In my head, the nesting material coming out of his beak made sense, but in practice, it made him look like he had a really odd beak. So gone!

Thanks for the comments and for checking it out too.

If you're like me, you have all kinds of brushes, paints, and surfaces waiting to be painted. Sometimes that drives me back to paint as much as anything.
