My favorite classic is The Good Earth by Pearl Buck. I also like Agatha Christie. Any of those will do.

I have been reading a series by Janet Oke, it is faith based so no cussing and sex scenes. So far they are all set in the old west. I am quite enjoying them. Also, a local author wrote a book called, "When life gives you alzheimers, make aprons". I just finally bought the book so only a few chapters in, but it is a really good book. She talks about the trying times of taking care of her mother and father. It is very down to earth, she talks about the good and the bad times/thoughts. Just a suggestion. So very sorry to hear what you are going through. God Bless!

I know how you feel. I am a full time caregiver to my mother also. She hasn't been diagnosed with Dementia but a lot of her meds make her appear to have dementia. I understand about the long days and late nights of taking care of an elderly parent. If you ever need someone to talk too thats in the same boat as you are please feel free to message me and we will chat.

You will love the Baxter family in the Karen Kingsbury series. You can't put it down, and it is rated G so you don't have to worry about sex and profanity--just a good old-fashioned plot. One book deals with dementia patients in the plot.

Sorry to hear about your Mom. Glad that most days are good. I was the primary caretaker for my Mom until she passed. She had dementia, but she always knew who I was and I never had to worry about her roaming.

I don't think it's been mentioned, but one of the best books I read in the last couple of years was "The Shack" by William Young. I also enjoyed the "Cat Who" Mysteries by Lillian Jackson Braun.

Primarily non-fiction. Love historical/fiction, however especially about
era of Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, etc. Presently reading books by John
Kenneth Galbraith (The Affluent Society, The Great Crash 1929) .
2 books I recommend are: America's Women (Collins) and Seizing Destiny
(Richard Kluger).

Miss Julia series by Ann B Ross. I think there are 12
books in the series and they are really funny.
