I am known as Oma to 20 grandkids. We were visiting Germany several yrs before our oldest GD was born & fell in love with the German's names for GP. She (now 25) our oldest GD started out really well with Oma but she could not get the Opa . She started calling DH Bump. So now we are called Oma & Bump to our 20 wonderful GC.

I'm gramajo. My MIL was Grandma (last name). I needed something different, so I'm gramajo. My granddaughter couldn't say it so I was jojo for awhile. I thought it was cute & have it on my license plate. I couldn't get grandma, gramma or gramajo as they were already taken.

'Grandma' - and my heart melts every time I hear my 3 and 4yr old grandsons call me this. They are fortunate to have both of us grandmas living close, so to distinguish us apart I am Grandma Blue Car (obvious) and their other Grandma is Grandma Poo Poo Poo (not so obvious). She was given this name because she has on old-fashioned tv with tubes, and when she turns it off it makes the sound of 'poo poo poo'.

I'm glad to be the one with the car.

I'm called grandma by all my grandkids except one, he calls me grandpa, but lately it is now the girl grandpa. Husband is called grandpa. My husband started calling his grandpa, popeye and the name stuck with him.
