Just asking--If you had a top of the line Viking, why are you looking for another sewing machine? Just asking.

Brother all the way

Fully agree with Jennifer 22206. Do NOT get a new Singer, they are only plastic. I love my Brother and my older Pfaff. Get a mechanical one without a computer. Not only are they better and last longer, they are cheaper to repair. Get one that is all metal - may be heavier, but well worth it.

Quote: Well, it looks like I'm going to be the only to say that I have a new Singer Confidence Stylist, and so far, it is working great, and I love it!
Mama I am glad you are happy with your machine. It is the way all our machines should make us. My mother had Singer treadles and it is what I learned to sew on. My first machine was a that I bought in 1977. They were all metal and heavy. I was happy with those machines. Mothers treadles got burned up in a house fire.

If you have a machine dealer you like and trust,I'd look into a trade-in.
As you know the sturdiness of the equipment makes sewing lots more fun.

You would be amazed at the condition of some of the machines found on Craig's List!
