Here in Buffalo, we're know for snow (not deserved --- we rarely get the most!!), home of the Anchor Bar where chicken wings were invented, home of beef on weck, snow, first city in the US to have electric street lights, Teddy Roosevelt was sworn in as the 26th president in 1901 after McKinley was shot at the Pan-Am Expo and subsequently died, grain elevators were actually invented here. There's bunches more...its a surprisingly neat place.

Central Oregon is known for great skiing, great lakes, fishing, beautiful mountains, rock climbing and a few quaint small towns to feed this tourist industry. As for quilters interest, Sisters Oregon is not far from me. That is where the Stitchin' Post is located which is the home of the world's largest outdoor quilt show held the second week in July. I had a class from Jean Wells when her Stitcin' Post was a tiny little hole in the wall. She gave a free class to some of us here in our town in the mid 70's...I remember her saying, "I have a dream to grow this business to be very big." Well , now she is a teacher world wide, fabric designer, shop owner, and author. She did make her dream come true, that is for sure.

Lansing is the Capital of Michigan, home of Oldsmobile (which is no longer being made), Michigan State University is next door in East Lansing, and it is home of a heck of a lot of nice people!!

How could I forget the Peachtree Road Race? I ran in it 5 consecutive years, what an experience !!!!! Yes the heat and humidity should make "us" well know. We were fortunate enough to attend several venues for the 1996 Olympics, including the opening ceremony....we were fortunate enough to be sitting near Mohammad Ali when he made his appearance.....probably should mention that ATL is home to the largest drive in restaurant, The Varsity !

Joaquin Murietta used to hide out in the hills outside of town here. We're considered part of the Bay Area - San Francisco - home of sourdough bread, chinatown, Dikes on Bikes, a really, really interesting sort of a Gay Pride Parade (oftentimes no clothes - only bodypaint - and then not all the time).

Chino,CA is my hometown
is mostly known for farms, prisons, and a really neat air museum, although in the past 10 years the farms have been moved out so no one unless you grew up there probably associates it with farms anymore. When I visit my dad I really miss the cow smell

Casa Grande, Az is the drug trafficking roadway from Mexico to Phoenix. Isn't that fun?
Our law enforcement officers find all whatever they leave, clothes, water bottles, dead bodies, backpacks of mariijuana, meth, you name it. They REALLY work very hard.
Not a pleasant thing to talk about, but it is a fact of life. Put up those electrified border fences !!! Keep immigrants out.
Sorry folks, but I'm very passionate about this living right in the middle.
