My inside decorations are usually put up by New Year's Day. But with 2 very curious, very active cats - my inside decorating is kept to a minimum and no tree for them to climb!

Outside lights stay up at least till Jan. 6. Then it depends on the weather and how I am feeling. If the weather is good, I will take them down Jan. 6. If the weather is really bad, I will leave them up until I can get out and do it. If it takes too long, I will at least unplug them so they don't come on. I always hate that day - I do love my outside lights and would keep them up and on till spring if I thought I wouldn't start getting really strange looks from the neighbors!

I had a friend, a florist, make us a 1/2 Christmas tree to hang on the wall. We love it. We have limited space, so having it hang on the wall solves our problem. We take it down the day after Christmas, cover it with plastic, and hang it on the garage wall till next year.

I'll be taking down what few inside decorations we have tomorrow, New Years Day. Outside will be another matter. It's just too darn cold.

We used to take it down on New Years day but this year my kids and grand kids are still here until New Years day and the youngest GD is having so much fun with the tree lights that after they go home tomorrow i will rest a day or two then take it down. After all I do it for the kids.

I take-down Christmas the week between the 2 holidays. This year I didn't decorate because it's all packed to be moved next year....so, instead, I got to see for the week.. Win win...

I usually take Christmas decorations down the day after Christmas. I enjoy them but when Christmas is done, I want them down.

Debbie C- I'm so sorry you had such a bad year. Hope the next one is better for you.
thank you Susie, since dad died, I've cared for mom who wanted only to join dad. When my sis passed, momma really went downhill. This past year has been an emotional mess for me. With our beautiful new home, I haven't even had the energy nor desire to set up my quilting room. Grief is a powerful energy. I'm slowing working my way back. And my dh has been such a good and patient blessing who has done much to help me cope.

I still have my door wreaths up, but the rest are already down and stored. My tree (called my "Charlie Brown") is dressed with the pillowcase and waiting for Christmas 2018.
