I would love to garden but the tought of worms makes me shiver. I even tried to get hypnotized to conquer the fear of worms. I was told that they would actually place worms on your hand to make sure you're over your fear. That's all I need to hear and I was out of there. Thank goodness for the farmers market where I could get fresh fruits and vegetables.

would you be willing to share some of your recipes? Do you boil down the tomatoes, then strain them and then can the tomatoe juice? Use the left over tomatoes for the salsa? I am wanting to make some pickles, but need a good recipe.

We bought this house last OCT just so I could have my own private sewing room; and, there's a large backyard...so, "farmer Jim" (DH) will soon be digging, planting, weeding to his heart's content...we'll eat good.

Way to go Cottontop, we are building and in this house I added an extra two rooms, one is a sewing and craft room just for me (everyone in the family knows this is Mums room only) and a large store room for my bulk buys and canning. Feels sort of decadent or self indulgent but I am so looking forward to my own "space"

We are going to plant out carrot and parsnip seed today
