I agree with clem55. That was my first thought when it happened. They did show him with a gun in his duffel bag, but then, maybe it was to be put off guard about who did it.

I think Felicia shot him. Maybe she got out of jail somehow? Or maybe Martha Huber? He was supposed to have killed her but in this show....one never knows.
