It's been driving me nuts! Thanks for addressing this question. Tried to figure out where to ask this question and even that was an event. I have noticed on some that say in hiding, the person will sometimes say in the first sentence "I'm from" - it wasn't making any sense to me. Thanks to whoever first asked what I have been wondering about for such a long time. You're such great people, thanks for letting me be a part of this group. Lynda1945

it is just personal choice. some choose not to divulge every single little item of their personal lives. and that doesn't take into account any security risks involved with giving out personal data!

I really enjoy knowing where the quilters are. Its more interesting when you know your talking to someone across the world. Or in another state or just around the block from you.

Like many other responders, I like knowing where folks are from
I know it's petty of me, but I rarely send a welcome message to a newcomer who's in hiding.
