I agree with Purplefiend....That is way too much for a machine that doesn't even have the cord!! You can get them cheaper than that on eBay! You have to just keep watching. A 1951 Centennial FW just sold, a few minutes ago, on eBay for $204.49 and a fully loaded Barely Celery FW sold for $355.00!!!!

Have 2. Both came with cords and attachments for less than that. Yes, that is too much I think.

That is a bit much if it is missing parts.

I had to buy a new cord for one of my Featherweights and it cost me $19.99 at our local quilt store. I bought a Featherweight at a garage sale for $125. Saw a FW in a thrift store in horrible shape...no case, no book or attachements and the price tag FIRM was $325. They are expensive because they are popular, compact, only weigh 11 1/2 pounds and are great for taking to class or guild meetings....thus, the prices go up UP UUPP!

I bought one over the Memorial Day weekend at a Salvation Army store ---- price was $20.00 and this included a cabinet and the power cord. They were having a 25% off sale on everything so the final cost was $15.00. And better yet ---- it works!!!!

I just had to coment on this post.

Loeta's words I wouldn't pay that much.
I found 3 Saturday for $500+ they had the cords and attatchments. I wouldn't pay that for them either...

My mother paid $45 for mine in 1969. It came with all the attachments

Loeta yes in 1969 that would of be about right, and these are collector machine of which a lot of us like to use but everything cost more now.

$400.00 without a cord??? I'd bet the seller had to come WAAAAY down on the price or he still has it in his garage. Craig's List and Ebay always have an abundant supply of these toys for a lot less. For hat kind of money I want it to be in good working order the entire machine should be covered with the most extravagant gold leaf designs
