No for me. No privacy and being followed around all the time with some joker with a camera in your face or spying on you!

The custom for their Christmas gifts to each other is gag or funny gifts. I read a book some years ago written by Diana and Charles housekeeper. It couldn't be published in Britain but could be in America. It was a very detailed account of how the royal household worked. Many many beautiful gifts, many one of a kind, given to Charles and Dianna were burned when the divorce was final. No other way to dispose of them without national scrutiny of why were certain gifts not kept and no one could keep silent about wearing a beautiful handmade blouse given to Dianna. The book is very interesting: [h=1]The Housekeeper's Diary: Charles and Diana Before the Breakup[/h]

isn't that a shame to burn everything! talk about waste.
to be a princess wouldn't float with me. i have an "E" width and wear sneakers 350 days a year.
I wouldn't be able to do the high heel thing, and pantyhose, and a slip and a waistband from a skirt and undies anymore.
when i got disabled, that all went in the trash can.
I wouldn't be able to put up with everyone watching my everymood. as far as quilting, could you imagine being invited to the castle to quilt?? All sneaking in thru the back door. Tea and crumpets instead of lunch. someone to pick up your pins when you drop them. even better, someone to thread your needle and cut out your borders for you. No more back breaking work, just the fun of it.

I read a book about Charles quite a few years ago and he was asked what kind of life he'd want if he wasn't a Royal.
He replied "I think I would rather enjoy being a country bumpkin". !!! That made me chuckle.

Not for the life of me, and quite frankly, I think royalty (in general) should not even be allowed to exist anymore. IMO it went out in the 1800's and should have been left in that era. There's no place in our world today for royalty of any kind.

I have zero love for royalty of any kind.

I would be all over it....with that being said, I'm hoping the title skips "what's his mug" and goes to William. There something to be said about karma if that were to happen.

I don't know why Charles gets such a bad rap. He's been duty bound his whole life. He wanted to marry Camilla when he was young and they wouldn't let him. Then they pressured him to marry Diana (whom I loved by the way) That's the part about being Royal I would have trouble with.

As for the throne, I have a feeling Charles will be quite old when he gets it, since the Queen Mum lived to be 101. William will probably have a very long reign. I love those boys!!
