I have 3 things that I collect.
My OLDEST long time collection is of amber
glass. I have MANY pieces (use to be larger
15 yrs ago) It all started when I bought some
oil lamps from my best friend when she and
her husband was moving to Michigan. I started
collecting it from 1980.
Next is my collection of coffee mugs, I collect them
from each of the States, as well as from around the
world when friends or family travel. Since I am afraid
to travel outside the U.S. this is my one way to do
the traveling I use to dream about when I was young.
My last collection of course if fabric, I have been collecting
it since 2006 when I started quilting, prior to that I only
bought 1/4-1/2 yard pieces of fabric.

The spousal unit collects salt and peppers.
I collect vintage/antique cast iron cookware and trivets. LOVE THEM! :)
I also have a collection of Santa figurines that I'm thinking about breaking up between the boys..I'll keep a few select ones, but the boys can split the other couple of hundred of them!
I love anything "ocean" and have several lighthouses, but have managed to keep them to a "controlled level". :)

I have had many collections, clowns, occupied Japan items, vintage aprons, pin cushions and fabric. Fabric is the only one that is active right now. Don't know what I am going to do with this stuff, my kids are not interested in any of it.

We collected glass paper weights -- still have them but have not added to them for years. DD says we could start an art gallery with what is on our walls. I have my mother's elephant collection. I had a large cookbook collection that is going down. I keep most of the books I buy since I am a re-reader (I read too fast to simply read a series once -- and it is a great pain killer.).
