Burma Shave signs on back roads. Wish I could remember some of the rhymes. Does anyone?

How many do you remember?

Head lights dimmer switches on the floor.

Ignition switches on the dashboard.

Pant leg clips for bicycles without chain guards.

Soldering irons you heat on a gas burner.

Using hand signals for cars without turn signals.

I might be older than dirt but those memories are some of the Best Parts of my Life.

Oh so true... I would so love to see kids now days (even most adults) live this way for a month..well even just a week!!!!
Yep, I remember ALL of them. The one that I wish would come back is the dimmer switch in the floor board. I think it was more convient than the steering wheel one that we have today. Also, I still have my doctor pepper bottle with the aluminuum cork stopper in it. I have it sitting on my hutch and the kids wanted to know what that was. lol Thanks for the memories!!! Mary

My favorite memory is the console radio that was taller than me as a child (that was before TV). It had a big dial that I always got in trouble for playing with it moving the needle around the dial screen by turning the knob round and round. Also remember playing outside in the dark..no parents worried about that. Summers were so hot, no air conditioners..just shade of the trees and if you were lucky a breeze. Lots of Kool-aid made with sugar and orange push-ups.
