that was fun. did a few more too. this one says i'm west. I lived in san diego ca. for 10 years. but I'm from
asheville nc if I go there I revert to the accent there. also if I get in germany I pick up the accent from there
growing up none of my freinds understood my moms accent so I had to transulate for them but she spoke perfect english and I guess I was used to it cause I didn't hear her german accent at all.. As for the one are you from kansas what a hoot that was.
DH is from here as the test proved. But I have been telling him I am out of place here which this test proved so bad. hahahahahaha I think it is time to go back and visit the son in Los angles ca. now...

It decided that I was as Philadelphian as cheesesteak. I've only been to Philadelphia with my DH to visit his relatives, I'm a Washington, DC native and lived in the DC area for 50 years, until I moved farther south! I've heard his Philly and Jersey relatives talking, and I KNOW I don't sound like they do. It's just too weird for me (as well as incorrect). LOL

Bang on ... Chicago here.

I took exception to question #8 - the difference between "Mary", "Merry", and "Marry". The choices were, all different, all same, or "Mary and Merry are the same but Marry is different".

Ummmm .... Mary and Marry are the same, but Merry is different. (Merry is pronounced like "Berry", Mary and Marry are pronounced like "Airy"). Am I the only one???
I Marry a Merry Mary. The more I say it, the more it sounds the same, but it sounds different!? I have a southern accent.

My test said I was from the West, not so East Coast but always told I didn't have an accent.

Well, as a 67 year old 15+ generation Virginian, who has lived 7years in Germany, 20+ in Texas and the rest in Virgina, I don't get that I tested as Midland. Most Virginians from the Piedmont to the Tidewater have a distinct regional accent, granted mine may have mellowed a bit as I traveled.

Think I'll look for other tests like this one to try.
